Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation; Muhammadu Sanusi, Emir of Kano; and Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s pioneer minister of communication technology; were among dignitaries who attended the 15th anniversary celebration of Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria in Lagos on December 10.
Matthew Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese; and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO); delivered keynote addresses virtually.
The gala, themed ‘Footprints & Frontlines’, drew a constellation of political and business leaders to honour the civic group’s two-decade journey of advocating for good governance, citizen engagement and accountability.
The event at Muson Centre, Victoria Island area of Lagos, featured panel discussions and networking sessions aimed at charting pathways for Nigeria’s democratic renewal.

One of the highlights of the night was the premiere of a documentary chronicling EiE Nigeria’s street protests against the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, through the birth of the ‘Enough is Enough’ movement in 2010, to its frontline role in the historic #EndSARS protests of 2020.
