Antonio Guterres, the United Nations (UN) secretary-general, and Sultan Al-Jaber, COP28 president, have welcomed world leaders to the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28).

The conference is organised by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is taking place in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Among those received was President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria.
