In what could be described as a test for the 2019 battle, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held rallies in Daura, hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina state, on Thursday.

While the APC drummed support for Ahmad Baba-Kaita, its Katsina north senatorial candidate, the PDP wooed the crowd in favour of Kabir Babba-Kaita.

Coincidentally, the two candidates in the election scheduled for Saturday are brothers.

On the APC side were Acting President Yemi Osinbajo; Adams Oshiomole, national chairman of APC; Bello Masari, governor of Katsina state; and Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state.
