PHOTOS: Atiku arrives Washington, to attend bilateral meeting at US chamber of commerce

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has arrived in the United States (US).

The former vice-president arrived in Washington D.C on Thursday night for a visit that is part of his political campaign.

Atiku travelled to the US alongside Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto governor and director-general of the PDP presidential campaign, as well as Emeka Ihedioha, former Imo state governor, and Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications.

He was welcomed by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Dino Melaye, a former Kogi senator, among others.

While in the US, the PDP presidential candidate would meet with the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC).

He is also expected to meet with Nigerians in the diaspora and members of the PDP in North America.

The PDP has also shared an invitation letter from the USAfBC inviting Atiku for a bilateral meeting.

“On behalf of the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC), I would like to extend an invitation for a bilateral meeting the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC) during your visit to the United States,” the letter signed by Scott Eisner, the president, reads.

The meeting is expected to hold on Tuesday, November 1, in Washington DC.

Among other issues to be thrashed out, Atiku is expected to hold an “off-the-record discussion” on how the US corporate community can best support Nigeria’s economic development.
