Goodluck Jonathan, immediate past president, and patience, his wife, were among the dignitaries that attended the 60th Independence Day celebrations in Abuja.

The event took place at Eagle Square in the nation’s capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Aisha, his wife; Yemi Osinbajo, vice-president; Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives; Ahmad Lawan, senate president; Yakubu  Gowon, former head of state, and Tanko Muhammad, chief justice of Nigeria, were also in attendance.
