Bilateral investment opportunities dominated talks between Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s minister of foreign affairs, and his Thai counterpart, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, during their meeting in Bangkok on Monday.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar’s spokesperson, said the minister highlighted the country’s crude oil exports and Thailand’s rice and machinery exports, proposing diversification through agro-processing and energy ventures.
According to the statement, Tuggar also spoke about opportunities for collaborations and knowledge transfer between the two countries in defence, ICT, manufacturing, and renewable energy, noting Nigeria’s large consumer market as an incentive.
