Sapphire Egemasi, the Nigerian tech enthusiast popularly known as “tech queen”, projected a lavish lifestyle before her arrest in the US by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Before her arrest in April on allegations of wire fraud and identity theft, the 28-year-old Egemasi portrayed herself online as a tech-savvy and financially liberated woman.

But her social media footprint is a visual diary of globetrotting, luxury, and the soft life.

The tech queen’s travel history, as curated on her X account, spanned some of the world’s most desirable destinations, including Portugal, Italy, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), France, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

In her posts, she shared stays at upscale accommodations, fine dining experiences, and visits to exclusive landmarks.

However, the glamorous facade unravelled when Egemasi was arrested in connection with a large-scale fraud scheme targeting multiple US government agencies.

Investigations revealed that she allegedly played a role in designing spoof websites to impersonate official US government domains, facilitating the theft of millions of dollars.
