Economic activities in Owerri, Imo state capital, were grounded following the sit-at-home order issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Shopping malls, banks, markets, schools and government offices were shut in compliance with IPOB’s order.

Amos Chinedu, a POS operator, at Okigwe road in Owerri, told TheCable he had no option but to comply with the sit-at-home order for his safety.

”If financial institutions like banks could close down businesses today, who am I to open my shop for business?” he said.
