Campaign posters of former President Goodluck Jonathan have been seen around the major streets of Kano, Kano state.
The posters seen in the metropolis of Kano on Thursday read: “2023 Our hope, Our solution”.
Despite calls on him to declare for president, the former president is yet to indicate any interest in running for office.
Last week, Jonathan asked his supporters to “watch out” for his next political move.
Although it is not clear who is behind the campaign posters of Jonathan in Kano, a number of support groups in the state have been calling on the former president to run in 2023.
One of these support groups known as Jonathan Dawo Dawo Network (JDDN) said Nigeria needs someone who understands the country.
“At this auspicious time of our national life, we need a personality whose understanding of the polity will guarantee the right to stability,” Musa Karkasara, coordinator of the group, said recently.
“Jonathan’s commitment to nation building as exemplified over non criticism of sitting and former leaders indicates that his love for Nigeria is unique.
“Managing a secular state like Nigeria is certainly not for the loud mouth, we must recognize it’s a job for a renowned team player like Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.”
