Magnus Onyibe, public policy analyst and media columnist, has celebrated his daughter Sopuluchukwu on her graduation with a master’s degree in financial innovation and technology (MFIT) from Queen’s University, Canada.

Sopuluchukwu completed the programme in December 2024, but the convocation ceremony was held on June 26.

To mark the occasion, her family hosted a dinner at Muni Robata, a Japanese restaurant in downtown Toronto.

Magnus praised his daughter’s hard work, determination, and resilience, describing her as “focused, graceful, and full of candour”.

He also encouraged Sopuluchukwu to consider pursuing a PhD in artificial intelligence (AI).

“The reward for hard work is more work,” he said.

Magnus said he had planned to obtain a PhD application form for his daughter but thought to leave the decision to her.
