The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has paid a visit to the victims of a military air strike in Kaduna state.

The delegation of northern senators was led by Abdul Ningi, its chair, and Abdulaziz Yari, senator representing Zamfara west.

On Sunday, many residents were killed with scores injured after air strikes were launched on the Tundun Biri community.

The villagers were reportedly commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad when the jet dropped the bomb that led to the deaths of several persons.

The army has since accepted responsibility for the incident, stating that its troops were on a routine mission against terrorists when the “mistake” occurred.

During the visit on Thursday, Ningi, senator representing Bauchi central, announced a donation of N58 million to the victims, adding that the donation shows the commitment of northern senators not to abandon their constituents in times of need.

On his part, Yari, chair of the senate committee on water resources, said “immense pain” has been inflicted on the victims of the bombing.

“Our hearts go out to all the families affected by this senseless tragedy,” the former governor of Zamfara said.

“We witnessed firsthand the immense pain and suffering caused by this event. We pray for the deceased, their families, and a speedy recovery for the injured.”

The senator added that such occurrences must be avoided by the authorities.

Here are some photos from the visit.
