PHOTOS: Okowa visits Jonathan to discuss ‘plans to rescue’ Nigeria

Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state, met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in his residence in Abuja on Wednesday.

Okowa, who is the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was accompanied by chieftains of the major opposition party.

Ahmed Makarfi, former PDP chairman, Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River, and Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi state, were also present at the meeting.

Commenting, Okowa said Jonathan “embodies all the characteristics of a true statesman,” adding that the purpose of the visit was to “discuss the state of the nation and our plans to rescue, reset and rebuild Nigeria”.
