PHOTOS: FRSC nabs overloaded vehicles on major highways

On Friday, May 30, 2025, a combined team from RS 11.31 Ogbomoso and RS 11.316 Orile-Igbon Unit arrested an overloaded vehicle.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have intensified a clampdown on overloaded vehicles on major highways.

The enforcement, which spanned several days, saw officers stationed at strategic checkpoints flagging down commercial vehicles exceeding the legally approved weight and passenger limits.

According to the corps, the operation is part of renewed efforts to reduce road accidents caused by overloading — one of the leading contributors to highway fatalities in the country.
