The remains of late former President Shehu Shagari have been conveyed from Abuja to Sokoto state.

Aminu Tambulwa, governor of Sokoto, is expected to receive the corpse.

The deceased will be laid rest in his hometown in Shagari local government area of the state. He died at the National Hospital, Abuja on Friday.
