PHOTOS: Tinubu holds extended meeting with security chiefs over rising attacks

President Bola Tinubu has held an extended security meeting with heads of defence and intelligence agencies at the State House.

In a post on X, on Sunday, Tinubu said the meeting was attended by Olufemi Oluyede, chief of defence staff; Waidi Shaibu, chief of army staff; Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police; and Adeola Ajayi, director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The president said the session was convened to review the latest security reports and take urgent steps to stabilise affected areas.

He added that he had ordered security agencies to act with “speed, precision, and absolute resolve” in responding to the recent wave of violence.

Tinubu said he had received continuous briefings from the security chiefs, adding that his administration remains committed to ensuring the safety of citizens across the country.

“Those who threaten the peace and security of our nation will face the full weight of the law,” he wrote.

He added that Nigeria would prevail over its current challenges.
