PHOTOS: Tinubu receives Duke of Edinburgh at State House

President Bola Tinubu on Monday received Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Prince Edward is in Nigeria to host a series of events in Lagos between November 17 and 23 to champion the expansion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award across the world.

The award is a non-formal education and learning framework supporting young people to find their purpose, place and passion in the world.

Almost 200 young people from more than 50 countries, alongside hundreds of leaders delivering the award globally, policymakers, and representatives from global youth movements are expected to attend the week-long event in Nigeria.

The youth will partake in an intensive three-day youth leadership programme, before taking part in the award’s triennial forum focused on expanding access globally.

The duke was accompanied by Richard Montgomery, British high commissioner in Nigeria, and other officials on his visit to the president.

Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, was among Nigerian officials present at the meeting.
