PHOTOS: Wike-backed PDP faction holds BoT meeting in Abuja

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a board of trustees (BoT) meeting in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The group is backed by Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking at the meeting, Mao Ohuabunwa, the BoT chairman, said the PDP is committed to restoring confidence within the party by organising congresses in states where they have not yet been held.

Ohuabunwa said the PDP national leadership is ready to collaborate with all state chapters to bring fresh leadership and stability across the country.

He said conducting overdue state congresses, consolidating ongoing achievements, and supporting the national leadership to steer the party back on course are critical to ensuring unity, transparency, and strengthening grassroots engagement.

The PDP is polarised into two factions — the Wike group led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the Kabiru Turaki faction backed by Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, and Bala Mohammed, his Bauchi counterpart.
