PHOTOS: Wike, Fubara, Rivers assembly members meet in Port Harcourt

Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), and Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, met on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.

Members of the Rivers house of assembly, Martin Amaewhule, the speaker; and Ferdinand Alabraba, chairman of the Rivers state elders council, also attended the meeting.

The meeting was convened days after Fubara resumed as governor of Rivers following the expiration of the emergency rule imposed on the state.

President Bola Tinubu had on September 17 announced the end of the emergency rule declared on March 18, directing Fubara, Ngozi Odu, his deputy, and members of the state house of assembly to resume their official duties.

After resuming office, Fubara said the political crisis that led to his suspension is now over. The governor also said he has since mended fences with his predecessor.
