Plateau United thrash Pillars to remain top of NPFL

Plateau United defeated Kano Pillars 2-0 at home to maintain their lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

The first goal of the match was scored in the 14th minute of the game by Ibeh Johnson while captain and the club’s highest goal scorer, Golbe Elisha, scored the second goal in the 55th minute of the second half.

In Uyo, Akwa United defeated Sunshine Stars 3-1. The four goals scored in the explosive encounter came in the first half.

Remo Stars whitewashed ABS 3-0, giving coach Fatai Osho his first victory since taking over from Nduka Ugbade.

Shooting Stars of Ibadan forced Gombe United to a 1-1 draw in Gombe as Abia Warriors secured a 2-1 home victory against Lobi Stars.

El-Kanemi Warriors continued their home invicibility by securing a 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes.

Earlier on Saturday, Enyimba of Aba and MFM played out a 1-1 draw with striker Stephen Odey scoring his eighth goal of the season.

Two matches were postponed due to CAF Champions League assignments of Rangers and Rivers United.
