UEFA president Michel Platini will announce later this week he wants to be the next president of FIFA.

According to the BBC, Platini has received indications of support from four continental confederations and will be a candidate when polling takes place on February 26, 2016.

The 60-year-old could declare as early as Wednesday.

Sepp Blatter has been in charge of FIFA since 1998. But the 79-year-old is standing down as a result of a corruption crisis at world football’s governing body.
