Please stay in your party, APC tells PDP leaders
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has told members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking to join its party that it would not accommodate them.
Advising PDP faithful to accept the “hard reality” that they have lost power, Lai Mohammed, the party’s national publicity secretary, taunted his PDP counterparts to rebuild their party to play its new role as the main opposition party.
“PDP leaders and members are falling over themselves shamelessly and swearing undying allegiance to the APC,” Lai said in a statement.
“Well, in case they did not get the message of the president-elect and our national chairman, we want to repeat it in very blunt terms: PDP leaders and members, you are not welcome in APC.
“Please stay in your party, but if – as we suspect – you cannot survive in opposition, then, take a walk, quit politics.”
Mohammed further accused the PDP of lacking the capacity to make constructive criticism but only known for wasting the country’s resources.
“The truth of the matter is that the PDP is scared stiff of being in opposition. We don’t blame them as they have neither the capacity nor the commitment to be in opposition,” the statement read.
“A party that stood for nothing but looting and rent collection will naturally be afraid of being in opposition, where there is nothing to loot or rent to collect.”
But you were wellcoming them some months ago, in fact you owe your victory on defectors from pdp and those who remained in pdp but we’re working for apc.
What is the philosophy of APC? Can they really cast the first stone? Sometimes, it appears as if APC members do not have a history. Are they all now Buhari? They are no saints? It is time that will tell. May God keep us alive.
For AGIP, (any Government in power) begging to be admitted into APC – shame on them. I agree that they should quit politics or wait a little because soon, APC will open their Door of Absorption. After all, majority of them came from PDP.
Normal APC talk; Lai has to be careful…what has APC achieved if not for the support of PDP members (the saboteurs!), on another note, those rushing from PDP to APC have no shame…Lai Mohammed should sharpen more and nail them with his acidic tongue
