Paul Pogba, the Juventus midfielder, has reportedly told French authorities about an alleged plot by an “organised gang of childhood friends” to blackmail him.

According to FranceInfo, the 29-year-old midfielder also accused Mathias Pogba, his elder brother, of being involved in the extortion plot.

He alleged that he was ambushed by his childhood friends and two hooded men armed with assault rifles.

Pogba claimed that he recognised one of the two hooded men to be his brother.

He also alleged that the gang demanded 13 million euros from him for “services provided”.

The 2018 World Cup winner said he has seen the gang severally — when he was in Manchester and now in Juventus.

The former Manchester United player narrated how his childhood friends once dragged him to an apartment in Paris, where they blamed him for not helping them financially since becoming a professional player.

Pogba’s allegation comes barely hours after Mathias, in a now-viral video, threatened to publish “great revelations” about the player.

Mathias said the information was likely to be “explosive,” without giving further details.

In a series of tweets, he also claimed his brother hired a marabout — a Muslim religious teacher — to injure Mbappe by applying witchcraft.

“Kylian, now do you understand? I have nothing negative against you, my words are for your good,” he wrote.

“Everything is true and proven. The marabout is known!

“I feel sorry for my brother, an alleged Muslim immersed in witchcraft.

“It’s never good to have a hypocrite and a traitor near you!”
