The Kano police command says it has arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his mother to death.
According to NAN, Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday.
Haruna-Kiyawa said the suspect, Ibrahim Musa, who lives at Rimin Kebe quarters, Kano, stabbed his 50-year-old mother with a sharp knife at different parts of her body on Wednesday.
He added that the suspect fled the scene after committing the act.

On Thursday, Mohammed Usaini, the state’s commissioner of police, ordered a manhunt for the suspect, before he was arrested at “a criminal hideout” in Dawakin Tofa LGA of Kano, and confessed to the crime and dealing in illicit drugs.
The police PRO added that the suspect would be charged to court, once the investigation is completed.
“On May 4, at about 10.00 p.m., the suspect was arrested at a criminal hideout in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano,” Haruna-Kiyawa said.

“Once the investigation is completed, the suspect will be charged to court.”
The commissioner of police thanked those who volunteered the information that led to the arrest and praised the tactical teams that carried out the duty.
