Police arrest Delta resident for ‘flogging his three-year-old daughter to death’
The police command in Delta has arrested one Godsgift Uweghwerhen, a 25-year-old man, for allegedly flogging his three-year-old daughter to death.
The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday at Aladja community in Udu LGA, Delta state.
Uweghwerhen was said to have flogged the child with a cane and inflicted injuries on her.
According to reports, prior to the incident, the child had been sick for some time.
Uweghwerhen reportedly flogged the child for entering a neighbour’s apartment, and fled the scene of the incident after he discovered that the child was dead.
Subsequently, he was reportedly arrested by members of a vigilante group and handed over to the police.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, Bright Edafe, Delta police spokesperson, told TheCable that the suspect is currently in police custody.
