The Osun police command says eight suspects have been arrested over the alleged mutilation of a 16-year-old boy’s scrotum in Ikire, Irewole LGA of the state.
In a statement on Monday, Abiodun Ojelabi, the command’s spokesperson, said the arrests followed a July 26 incident in which the victim was attacked in a bush.
Ojelabi said three suspects from Apomu had gone to farm in the Arademi area of Ikire when two of them lured the boy to a secluded spot.
According to him, the suspects allegedly cut the boy’s abdomen in an attempt to remove vital organs, but ended up taking only his scrotum before fleeing when he cried for help.
