The police on Saturday arrested some fake delegates and suspected thugs at the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ekiti state.
They were arrested while trying to forcefully gain entry into the venue where the election is holding.
The fake delegates did not have the necessary requirements and the sum of N158,000 was found on them.
One of the arrested persons had on him a charm wrapped in a red cloth.
The suspected hoodlums have been handed over to officials of the criminal investigation department present at the venue, Damlek Multipurpose Hall & Event Centre, Ado-Ekiti.
The party’s first primary election in the state, which held last Saturday, ended on an inconclusive note after violence broke out.
