The Lagos police command says it has arrested two fake soldiers in the state.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the police public relations officer, said military uniforms, police accoutrements and live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

In a statement, Hundeyin said Oluwatosin Gabriel, one of the suspects, was arrested during enforcement of total ban on motorcycles in some parts of the state.

He said discreet investigation by police detectives led to the arrest of Nurudeen Agboola, the second suspect, who is allegedly the supplier of the military uniforms.

He said items recovered from the fake soldier and his supplier include four pairs of military camouflage uniform, nine live cartridges, military identity cards, police accoutrements and charms.

“Investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their criminality. Suspects would be arraigned after the conclusion of investigation,” he said.

He added that Abiodun Alabi, the state commissioner of police, commended the detectives for the good job.
