Police arrest man for ‘killing’ 22-year-old woman in Kano

The Kano police command says its operatives have arrested a suspect for allegedly killing a 22-year-old housewife identified as Rumaisa Haruna.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Abdullahi Kiyawa, police spokesperson in Kano, said 35-year-old Shu’aibu Abdulkadir, who resides at Madatai Quarters in Kano, was arrested on May 23.

Kiyawa said his arrest followed weeks of intelligence-led investigations and technical operations.

He noted that the suspect confessed to entering into the victim’s home, strangling and stabbing her in the neck, leading to her death.

He said the deceased was killed on April 6 in her matrimonial home at Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Farawa Quarters in Kano.

Kiyawa added that the suspect would be charged in court after the completion of investigations.
