Badru allegedly promised to secure Olugbenga a seat on the board of the South West Development Commission for a fee of N300 million.
Convinced by his claims, Olugbenga reportedly paid the sum in tranches.
After receiving the payments, the suspect fled to Ibadan, Oyo state, and blocked all communication channels.
