Police arrest man for ‘stabbing wife to death’ in Yobe

The Yobe police command says it has arrested Abubakar Musa, a 43-year-old suspect, in connection with the death of his wife, Ammi Mamman, in Damaturu.

In a statement on Friday, Dungus Abdulkarim, spokesperson of the command, said the incident occurred at about 4:48 am on Thursday at New Bra-Bra Estate.

Abdulkarim said the suspect was on the same bed with the deceased when she was stabbed with an object on her neck, which resulted in heavy bleeding that led to her death.

He said the suspect is being interrogated by police detectives to unravel the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.

The spokesperson urged anyone with reliable information on the incident to come forward in the pursuit of justice.
