Police arrest three suspected kidnappers in Adamawa

The Adamawa police command says its has arrested three suspected kidnappers, and rescued a 16 year-old female victim, in Gombi LGA of the state.

In a statement on Wednesday, Suleiman Nguroje, police public relations officer in the state, said the rescue operation was carried out by its “crack squad” in collaboration with hunters.

Nguroje said the operation was initiated following a tip-off, leading to the arrest of the three suspected kidnappers in Fotta village of Gombi.

“The suspects were all arrested at a certain house in a remote side of Fotta Village, where they camped their kidnapped female victim and demanded N8,000,000 ransom,” he said.

“A victim whose name was withheld, was kidnapped three days ago from Buma Village, Shani LGA, Borno State. The victim is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed facility.”

Nguroje implored the public to provide timely information to the police, especially information on persons with questionable character.
