The Lagos police command says it has arrested two suspected robbers for stealing school properties in the state.

Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, said the suspects stole items worth millions of naira.

Hundeyin said the incident occurred at the Ajao estate area of Lagos on December 29, 2023, noting that the suspects drugged the security guard at the school with food laced with sedatives.

“They constructively broke into the school’s administrative office, removed the ignition key to the school’s bus, and removed a 65-inch television set and six inverter batteries,” NAN quoted Hundeyin as saying.

The police spokesperson said during the investigation, one of the suspects was apprehended at the Ajao Estate area of Lagos.

He said the suspect disclosed the location of his accomplice who works as a laundry man in a hotel in the Oshodi area.

“The vehicle later developed a mechanical fault close to the toll gate at Ibadan and it was abandoned there. They also sold the inverter batteries in Ibadan.

“The suspects led the operatives to Ibadan, where the vehicle was recovered. They will be arraigned for conspiracy and robbery.”
