The Lagos police command says it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a boy after injections were allegedly administered to him in a hospital.

A video showing what appears to be the lifeless body of a boy on a stretcher recently surfaced on social media.

In the less than three-minute video seen by TheCable, the boy’s father could be heard crying.

The father alleged that the nurse who administered the injections and the doctor on duty absconded after they discovered that his son had given up the ghost.

He claimed that the medical personnel at the hospital reported the case to the police without informing him of his son’s death.

He said the incident happened at the Maternal and Child Care (MCC) hospital, Ogombo, Ajah axis of Lagos.

“I need help and an explanation of what they did to my son,” the man said.

In an interview with NAN, Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, said the police have obtained information about the incident but the boy’s father and medical personnel did not write official statements.

Hundeyin said the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigation department.

“Yes, we are aware of the case. The father of the deceased came to the station but refused to write a statement,” he said.

“The hospital staff also came to the station without making any statement. For the benefit of all, they were transferred to the state CID for proper investigation.”
