The Rivers state command of the Nigeria police force has confirmed the abduction of Osio Agama, the sister of Diezani Alison-Madueke (pictured), Nigeria’s minister of petroleum resources.

Armed men abducted her in Port Harcourt, capital of the state, as she made to enter her car on Tuesday night.

Confirming the report, Ahmad Muhammad, Rivers state police spokesman, said the motive of the kidnappers had not yet been made known.

“We are not aware if any ransom demand had been made,” he said.
