One person was killed after the local government congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) turned violent on Saturday.
Three persons were also injured in the exercise which took place in Deba town of Yamaltu/Deba local government area.
Mary Malum, spokesman of Gombe police command, identified the deceased as Salisu Dage.
Malum said the exercise had been peaceful until an argument which ensued among party members turned bloody.
She said two persons had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Abubakar Audu, an eyewitness, told NAN that the incident occurred shortly after the party congress was concluded.
“Though the police intervened immediately, one person lost his life while those that got injured were rushed to the hospital,” he said.
A similar violent in the APC congress in Lagos had also resulted in the killing of one person.
