Police foil abduction, kill two ‘wanted terrorists’ in Katsina

Two suspected terrorists have been killed by operatives of the police command in Katsina state.

The police command said they were eliminated when they attacked Sokoto-Rima Quarters, Dutsinma LGA of the state on Tuesday.

“The two notorious terrorists were identified as Abu Na-Iraqi and Abu Na-Masari,” Gambo Isah, the command’s spokesperson, said in a statement.

“On Dec. 13, 2022, at about 7:30p.m, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Sokoto-Rima Quarters, Dutsinma LGA, with intent to kidnap some residents.

“Subsequently, the area commander Dutsinma and his team swiftly moved to the area, engaged the terrorists in a gun duel, neutralised two notorious terrorists on the wanted list of the police.”

The command’s spokesperson disclosed that two AK-47 rifles were recovered from the terrorists.

“Search parties are still combing the area with a view of arresting other members of the syndicate who fled the scene with gunshot wounds,” he added.
