The Katsina police command says its operatives rescued over 50 kidnapped victims and recovered 229 rustled animals in July.
Abubakar Aliyu, police spokesperson in Katsina, told journalists on Friday that operatives also foiled several bandit attacks across the state.
Aliyu said the recovered animals comprise 161 cows and 68 sheep, adding that 302 suspects were arrested for various crimes during the period under review.
He said the arrests included 14 armed robbery suspects, 22 murder or culpable homicide suspects, and 25 suspected rapists.

The police spokesperson added that operatives also recovered three “stolen vehicles, two motorcycles”, illicit drugs, dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, and a large quantity of vandalised armoured cables.
Aliyu thanked residents for their support and urged them to continue to report suspicious activities via the command’s emergency numbers—081569777722, 0902220969033 and 07072722539.
