The Yobe state police command has recovered four bombs, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), six mortar bombs, a machine gun and two Ak47 rifles inside a damaged Toyota Highlander, belonging to suspected insurgents.

Markus Danladi, the commissioner of police in Yobe, disclosed this on Wednesday while displaying the ammunition to reporters in Damaturu, capital of the state.

He said the bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered in the trunk of the vehicle used for Monday’s attack in Damaturu.

Danladi explained that a police patrol team stopped five suspected suicide bombers for search on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway and the suspects detonated the explosives killing themselves and three policemen.
