There have been several cases of kidnap across the country in the past year.

In March, five daughters of Abubakar Furfuri, a former accountant-general in Zamfara, were abducted.

The girls were reportedly abducted in their home in Furfuri, a community in Bungudu LGA of the state. However, they were later released in November.
