A mobile policeman was shot dead, while another sustained injuries during an attack on the residence of Ibrahim Coomasie, former inspector-general of police, in Katsina state.

According to NAN, the incident happened around 8pm on Saturday.

The two attackers, who reportedly went there on a motorcycle, opened fire on the two policemen stationed at the gate of the residence.

Although they did not gain entrance into the house, the attackers were said to have escaped with the rifle of one of the policemen.
