POLL: Should Buhari give Fulani herdsmen the IPOB treatment?
Recent events in the country have tested the resolve of the federal government to maintain the peace and assure Nigerians that the country is not drifting.
There is the Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east that is being confronted by the military through “Operation Lafiya Dole”. Its success is still a subject of debate, even though the military has been claiming victory.
When the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), the organisation led by Nnamdi Kanu, raised the tempo of the campaign for the declaration of the Republic of Biafra, the military went after them with Operation Python Dance, leading to the calming of tension, even though nobody can say with confidence that the Biafra dream has been killed.
The Fulani herdsmen, however, present a different scenario. They have been involved in constant clashes, often violent, with farmers and locals across the country. There seems to be no resolve by the federal government to call them to order. The latest Benue killings seem to have offered a turning point, with the federal government finally appearing to be ready to confront the problem.
The question then is: should the herders get the tough treatment meted out to IPOB in 2017? Will it finally send a strong signal that nobody is above the law?

President Buhari declare the fulani herdsmen as terrorists, they should be equated to Boko haram terrorists. These herdsmen have claimed so much lives, they should be brought to book.
