‘Property vandalised’ as NURTW factions clash in Lagos
There were gunshots on Thursday morning as factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) allegedly clashed in Obalende area of Lagos.
The fracas was said to have started about 8am, leaving people who were heading for work scampering for safety.
Property was said to have been vandalised and movement restricted in the area.
Many residents have taken to Twitter to share videos and pictures of the incident.
It is not clear what led to the clash, but the police said divisional police officers (DPOs) are on the ground addressing the situation.
