The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the dismissal of three officers and the demotion of five others.

In a statement on Wednesday, Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesperson, said the three officers dismissed were assistant superintendents of police (ASPs), while those affected by demotion in rank included an assistant commissioner, a chief superintendent, two superintendents, and one assistant superintendent.

He added that 20 other officers were severely reprimanded for various offences ranging from indiscipline to insubordination, among others.

Ani said the decisions were taken during the 20th plenary meeting of the commission presided over by Solomon Arase, PSC chairman.
