Pucado, whose real names are Orisakwe Paul E, was born and raised in Port Harcourt.  Originally from Nkwerre, Imo State, he had his higher education at Owerri. In 2011, he started making music professionally, and in 2012 got signed unto Aristokrat Records.

“Life in general and change of environment inspire me,” he told  TheCable in a telephone chat.

Vanity was written at a dark period in my life. It is was when I just graduated. My mother could not really further my education and it was hard taking care of my sister and I. I also had a girlfriend who was on my neck at the time.”

Vanity, he said, was written to encourage his fans, who may be facing similar situations.

On the fusion of Igbo, his native language, into his songs, Pucado says his aim is just to show his roots as an Igbo man, although he is set to release songs that will cater to the varying interests of an international audience.

Pucado hopes for more collaborations that will go beyond Africa.

“I am not just a rapper,” he says. “I am into world music that will include songs of different genres, and I will still collaborate with both African and International stars.”
