An unspecified number of school pupils have been abducted by bandits in Kaduna state.

The bandits were said to have invaded Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, Kuriga, Chikun LGA of the state at about 8:30am on Thursday.

Some staff of the school, including the head teacher, were also abducted.

“I am attending a security meeting, but police tactical team has been deployed to go after the criminals by combing the bushes to rescue the victims,” Hassan said.

“This is all I can say for now.”

Many pupils were said to have run out of their classrooms upon sighting the bandits on the school premises.

The bandits reportedly took the kidnapped pupils and staff into the bush while shooting indiscriminately.
