Enugu Rangers, champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League, picked their first point of the season after coming from behind to play a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United in Lafia.

The first half ended goalless but the home team took the lead through Adamu Hassan just five minutes into the second half.

Fortune Omoniwari however restored parity in the 67th minute. Efforts by the two teams to get the winning goal proved abortive.

Plateau United made it back-to-back victories after a 3-1 bashing of Enyimba in Jos, with goals from Elisha Golbe, Kabiru Umar and Emeka Umeh making the difference.

Ikechukwu Ibenegbu’s goal was just a consolation for Enyimba.

Akwa United failed to make their home ground count in a 1-1 home draw against Rivers United, same as the game between Niger Tornadoes and ABS.

FC IfeanyiUbah players were in killer mood against MFM, thrashing their visitors 4-0 to banish the memories of their ill-fated opening match against Kano Pillars.

In some of the other matches played, Abia Warriors cemented their early reign at the top of the table with a 2-0 home victory against Katsina United, while Lobi Stars defeated Kano Pillars 1-0.

Gombe United came from a goal down to beat Remo Stars 2-1, as Sunshine Stars claimed the bragging rights in the South West derby with a 1-0 victory against Shooting Stars.

El-Kanemi Warriors will take on Wikki Tourists in the final match on Thursday.
