Rashid Bawa, Ghana’s high commissioner to Nigeria, is dead.

He was reported to have died in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, on Thursday.

He was a member of the Ghanaian parliament for Akan constituency from 2001 to January 2005 as an independent candidate.

Bawa’s death comes days after the passing of John Kumah, Ghana’s deputy minister for finance and member of parliament for Ejisu constituency.

Akufo-Addo had described Kumah as a politician who served the country with “great enthusiasm and devotion”.

“His unwavering dedication to service, his tireless commitment to the betterment of our nation, and his profound passion for uplifting the lives of the people of Ejisu and Ghana were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him,” the president said.
