Former President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting President Bola Tinubu as his administration marks its second year in office.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Garba Shehu, the former presidential spokesperson, Buhari congratulated Tinubu on reaching the midterm milestone.

He said leadership as a continuous journey, adding that meaningful reforms take time to yield results.

Buhari urged Nigerians to stand by the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, noting that reforms require time to deliver results.

“Reforms would achieve success gradually, not overnight,” he said, cautioning that critical policy changes should not be derailed by political distractions.

Buhari expressed support for the administration’s ongoing drive to tackle poverty and inflation, describing them as challenges that have disproportionately affected the poorest households.

He noted that the responsibility of nation-building should not rest solely on government shoulders.

“The private sector and all of us as citizens must join in all ways we can,” he said.

Buhari encouraged Nigerians to remain confident in the country’s future.

“Our expectations from our governments should not get heavy,” he added.

“I am wishing President Tinubu heartfelt congratulations on his two years in office. May you keep leading with wisdom and care.”
