The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors’ forum has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to release the N50 billion bailout fund due to Kogi state.

Onaiwu Osaro, coordinator of the forum, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday.

Osaro, who alleged that most states, particularly under the ruling party, have received theirs, wondered why the CBN is yet to release that of Kogi.

“The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, has to insulate the apex bank from the shenanigans of politicians to avoid serious political and economic dislocation in the country,” the statement read.

“It is important and urgent that the CBN releases the N50billion bailout due Kogi to ease the suffering of the common people in the state.”

Denying the allegation that he intends diverting the money for his re-election campaign, Idris Wada, governor of the state, said he has set up a committee that would administer the fund for the right purpose.

The election will hold on November 21.
