Kelechi Iheanacho and Ogenekaro Etebo have arrived in Austria for the Super Eagles friendly game against Cameroon, following the withdrawal of several players.

The arrivals increased the number of footballers in the camp to 17.

TheCable had earlier reported the withdrawal of key players like Victor Osimhen, Simy Nwankwo, and six defenders due to injury.

“We had nine defenders on the list. Six now are out,” Gernot Rohr had said.

“They said they had some injuries and the doctors from the clubs said they need to rest because they have some pains. So we got some medical attestations from the teams.”

The players’ withdrawal had put the friendly in jeopardy, but Rohr maintained that the match will go on, provided those playing in England turn up in camp.

Iheanacho and Etebo, who play for Leicester and Galatasaray respectively, arrived alongside Abdullahi Shehu, Anayo Iwuala, Noble John and Marcus Abraham.

Other players present include Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho, William Troost-Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, Jamilu Collins, Valentine Ozonwafor, Terem Moffi, Peter Olayinka, Samson Tijani, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi.

The Super Eagles will face Cameroon on June 4 at the Weiner Neustadt Stadium in Austria. The match is billed to kick off at 8:30pm.
